Welcome to my colorful world! I love creating unique artwork and patterns to brighten up your life!

Hi, I’m Sareka Unique — an abstract artist, illustrator, and designer passionate about color, creativity, and helping others embrace their individuality.

I’ve always believed that art has the power to heal, connect, and inspire. My work is rooted in joy — created to bring color and happiness into people’s lives and to remind us all that we are meant to take up space, to feel, and to be seen.

Color is my language. It tells stories, sets moods, and invites emotion. Whether I’m painting a large-scale abstract, creating surface patterns, or designing something new, I use color as a tool to spark joy and positive energy. My art is bold, playful, and intuitive — a reflection of how I move through the world and what I hope others feel when they experience it.

Through Sareka Unique, my goal is simple: to encourage people to live creatively, embrace their own unique voice, and make space for joy — both in their homes and within themselves.

You can explore my work online or visit my Sareka Unique Pop-Up Gallery at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I share original paintings, limited-edition prints, and my interactive “Paint With Me” sessions — collaborative creative experiences that let visitors connect through art and color.

When I’m not painting, I’m dreaming up new ways to merge art, design, and storytelling — through illustration, surface pattern collections, and creative collaborations. No matter the medium, my purpose remains the same: to create work that feels like sunshine for the soul.

💛 Art you love is never a luxury — it’s a lifestyle.

💬 Q + A with Sareka Unique

Q: How did you get started as an artist?
A: I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember — drawing, painting, and exploring color in every way possible. Growing up in Detroit, I was surrounded by creativity, culture, and community. That foundation shaped my belief that art isn’t just something you hang on a wall — it’s an experience, a feeling, and a form of connection.

Q: What inspires your artwork?
A: Color and emotion are my biggest inspirations. I paint intuitively, letting colors lead the way and tell their own story. My goal is always to create something that feels joyful, alive, and full of energy — the kind of art that makes people feel something the moment they see it.

Q: How would you describe your artistic style?
A: I’d describe it as bold, joyful, and expressive. My work is full of movement and layers, often blending intuitive marks with unexpected color combinations. Every piece is like a snapshot of emotion — a little piece of my heart and a lot of my imagination.

Q: What does “Make Space for Joy” mean to you?
A: It’s more than a phrase — it’s a way of living. It means giving yourself permission to slow down, appreciate beauty, and fill your space with things that make you smile. My art is created to be a reminder of that — to bring happiness into your home and your heart.

Q: What’s your favorite color palette right now?
A: I’m obsessed with hot pink, chartreuse, teal, and hints of coral — that mix feels alive, confident, and full of sunshine. But honestly, my palette changes with my mood. Sometimes I crave warmth and energy, and other times, quiet calm.

Q: What’s playing in your studio right now?
A: Usually a mix of upbeat music — I love something I can dance and sing to while painting. Lately it’s been a blend of Alex Jean, H.E.R., and some 90 hip-hop and R&B. Sometimes I’ll switch to instrumentals or podcasts when I’m in flow mode.

Q: What do you hope people feel when they see your art?
A: I hope they feel seen and happy. I want my art to remind people of their own light and creativity. Even if it’s just for a moment, I want someone to look at my work and feel a spark of joy.

Q: Where can I experience your art in person?
A: You can visit my Sareka Unique Pop-Up Gallery at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where I showcase original paintings, prints, and interactive “Paint With Me” sessions. It’s a space designed to feel like a burst of joy — colorful, creative, and full of good energy.

Q: Do you take commissions or custom art requests?
A: Yes! I love collaborating on custom pieces that reflect your story, your colors, and your space. Whether you’re a collector, designer, or simply looking for something meaningful, I’ll help you bring your vision to life.
